My Secret Weapon for a Yummy and Healthy Snack

Share :

My son is 22 months old and like every other child, he is also a super active kid and a fussy-eater. Which means that he needs good food to power his entire day, but he refused to eat any good food while I struggle to feed him.

Despite my endless attempts at feeding him healthy fruits and vegetables, I don’t think he was even mildly interested in eating the healthy food I made for him. He does, however, have a taste for junk food, even at this very young age. Naturally, I was always worrying, considering how important they are for his health and development. I tried many ways to make my child like healthy food instead – from all the home remedies, to the tips and tricks I read, feeding my son the right food so that he could get his vital nutrients was a challenge.

As childhood is such an important stage in his growth and development, I used to be worried like any other mom about his food and what nutrients it contained. I wanted to provide him a balanced and nutritious diet, which would be rich in Vitamins and Minerals.

I wanted to make food that was healthy a part of my child’s habits, but I knew it would also have to be tasty so that my child would be tempted. But now, thanks to a secret weapon, I have a trick that makes feeding a fussy eater like mine much easier.

My secret weapon is Nutralite Mayonnaise. It is eggless, and has a smooth and creamy texture. My favourite flavour to use is the Cheesy Garlic flavour, which is mayonnaise that is accompanied with a tinge of garlic. And the reason I love adding it in my son’s meals, is that it is fortified with Vitamin A, D & E and can be used to make a variety of dishes.

Kids need a good diet, which not only fulfils their carbohydrate and protein needs, but also their micronutrient needs. Vitamin A promotes normal growth and development, Vitamin D strengthens the immune system and regulates the absorption of minerals, and Vitamin E is an antioxidant that can be protective against various illnesses.

So once I knew what I’d actually be feeding my child when I introduced a serving of Nutralite Mayonnaise, I was excited to add it to his snacks.

As my child loves junk food, I had to make his favourite food healthier, so I used Nutralite Cheesy Garlic Mayonnaise to make some Cheesy Garlic Bread. This appetizer and quick snack, when cooked with this healthy ingredient, becomes a Vitamin-rich snack.

Here’s how you can also make it for your child

  • ½ cup softened Butter.
  • 3/4th cup Nutralite Cheesy Garlic Mayonnaise (Eggless).
  • Chopped green Onions.
  • 1 and ½ cup Parmesan Cheese.
  • 1 halved (lengthwise) French Bread.

Now, let us understand the method of cooking.

  • Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Centigrade (equivalent to 350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Take a large bowl. Put softened butter, Nutralite cheesy Garlic Mayonnaise, green onions and parmesan cheese together and mix them well.
  • Now spread this cheesy mixture evenly on the slices of the French bread.
  • Bake these slices of bread in a preheated oven for 8 minutes.
  • Once it is done, your Cheesy Garlic Bread is ready to be enjoyed.

A single serving of Nutralite Mayonnaise meets nearly 30% of the daily Vitamin requirements, which really reassures me about his nutrition.

Fussy eating is not uncommon so don’t be too worried about your child’s fussy eating habits. Keep feeding him tasty, innovative, creative and healthy meals and let him enjoy playtime. Don’t be afraid to give my secret weapon a try, your kids and you, will love it!
