There is no better excuse for a summer gathering than mangoes, and honestly, no better time to put a mango party menu together without overthinking it.

Here are five mango dish recipes! None of them require you to disappear into the kitchen for two hours.

Aam Panna: The Drink That Walks in the Door

Before anyone sits down, hand them something cold. Not a cola, not packaged juice. A proper homemade Aam Panna. As far as Summer mango recipes go, Aam Panna takes the cake!

Boil two raw green mangoes until the skin starts splitting. Scoop out the pulp, blend it with roasted cumin powder, black salt, sugar, and a fistful of fresh mint. That is the concentrate. It sits in the fridge overnight just fine. When guests arrive, one part concentrate, two parts ice cold water, done. The smokiness from the jeera is what makes it taste like someone actually made it, not assembled it.

Raw Mango Coleslaw Sandwiches with Nutralite Veg Mayo

Dice it small, toss with boiled chickpeas, red onion, green chilli, coriander, chaat masala, roasted jeera powder, squeeze of lime. The first thing you should taste is the sourness, then the spice, then the mango coming through at the end. If it just tastes sweet, add more lime.

Spoon into cups just before guests arrive. Overloaded chaat that has been sitting around starts tasting like nothing at all.

The Mango Smoothie Station

A self-serve drinks station is one of those things that sounds like extra effort but actually takes nothing to manage once it is set up.

Blend ripe Alphonso or Kesar pulp with full-fat chilled yoghurt, a bit of sugar, and cardamom. Keep it thick on purpose. Set out crushed ice, fresh mint, saffron soaked in a spoon of warm milk. If some guests want dessert in a glass instead of a drink, a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side handles that. One kilogram of ripe mango and 500 grams of yoghurt covers ten glasses. Make it the previous evening.

Mango Choco Crunch Bites
