Long gone are the days when work was all about manual labour. These days, slogging is more about clocking work hours while being chained to a single desk without an iota of movement. Now you may be a PPT champ by the day and a gym rat by night. But a recent research states that 30 minutes of cardio, 5 times a week, is not enough to undo the damage of an inactive lifestyle. You can have healthy food to reduce cholesterol, but more is the need of the hour.

So, you need not worry. We’ve got you covered with these exercises you can do at your desk, while you juggle conference calls and google talk conversations.

  1. Cardio

Did you finally get the printer to print something or is it a Friday? Nothing like a split squat jump to express your happiness. Make sure that your feet are hip-width apart. Place your left leg back two feet and balance on the ball of the foot. Now lunge lower and go upwards the way you would love to celebrate. While you jump, switch your feet so that the left foot is in the front and the right leg is behind. Repeat this quick easy office exercise for a couple of times on each side.

  1. Legs and Butt

Now the boss wants that 100-page guide to be printed without any errors, so why just stare at the printer? Sculpt your calves with calf-raises. Your feet should be shoulder-width apart. Go on your toes and pause for a while. And then lower yourself down again. Repeat a few sets again or till you have got everything printed. If you wish to level up, try raising one leg at a time. It's actually a smart ways to exercise at work.

  1. Shoulders and Arms

We know you will love it if a deadline gets extended. Well, we have got the perfect move for that. Make sure you are sitting upright. Now bring your palms together in front of the chest and push both your hands together until you can feel your arm muscles contract. Hold the post for about 15 to 20 seconds. Release and repeat till you feel at peace, and do tell us whether that deadline got extended. This is nothing but, best exercise to do at work.

  1. Chest, back and neck

Don’t do this when your boss questions you about the status of a project. You will be in for a rude shock. Raise your shoulders towards your ears. Hold this for about 5 seconds. And then relax. Repeat for a couple of times. Do this exercise while working at your desk.

  1. Core

While the deadline dances on your head and so does the hope for a six pack, we can float a hack that can help you. Place your elbows on your thighs and try to curl your chest inward towards your legs while holding the arm movement. Maintain the position for about 10 seconds, and repeat 5 times.

Didn’t we just fix your “I don’t have the time to gym” issue? And if you are a tad bit conscious, you can always use a conference room for all your fitness plans or a fairly-empty space during lunch hours. Try out these exercises and do tell us how did it go. And if you have memory issues, you can always rely on good ol’ sticky notes and reminders on your phone or emails. Make sure that you also have foods like Nutralite in your diet that are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids to compliment your office workout.
