BBQ Mushroom Burgers

Ingredients

  • Mushrooms (1 cup)
  • Buns of your choice
  • Sprouts, Onions, Tomato
  • Nutralite
  • Grated onion (1/4 th cup)
  • Garlic (1 clove)
  • Ketchup (3/4 th cup)
  • Mustard sauce (2 tablespoons)
  • Apple Cider Vinegar (2 tablespoons)
  • Maple syrup (2 tablespoons)
  • Chilly hot sauce (½ to 1 teaspoon)
  • Salt and pepper as per taste

Instructions

  1. Start preparing the sauce. Take a pan and put some Nutralite. Add some onion and garlic, and sauté till the colour turns translucent.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients, and let the mixture boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat and let it thicken, stirring occasionally. Add the seasonings as per the taste.
  3. Trim your mushrooms as per the size of your buns.
  4. Let your mushrooms get soaked in the sauce, and leave it to marinade for about 15 to 30 minutes.
  5. Heat your grill and cook your mushrooms. The duration depends on your grill’s speed of heating.
  6. When your mushrooms are ready, apply more sauce and place them in the buns.
  7. Your grilled BBQ burgers are ready to be served with fresh mint chutney
