Aloo patties are the ultimate street-food we all love to snack on. If the extensive oil used to make this tantalizing snack is what keeps you away from making aloo patties at home, wait until you try our healthy aloo patty recipe. Yes, you read that right - “healthy”; and without altering the original aloo patty recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 Potatoes
  • Nutralite
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 3 Tablespoon Green Coriander
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • Pinch of Asafoetida (Hing)
  • Salt to Taste

Instructions

  1. Start by boiling the potatoes, and then proceed to mash them while the potatoes are still warm.
  2. Once they’ve been mashed, add the green chillies, red chilli powder, asafoetida (hing), coriander leaves and salt. Mix well.
  3. Take the mixture and separate it into small portions; then make the patties into round contoured shapes.
  4. Heat the tawa and shallow fry the tikkis on both sides with Nutralite, until the patties turn golden brown.
  5. Once ready, take them out and serve with mint chutney or any condiment of your choice.
